1993 KONA LAVA DOME
When I moved to Canada in 2011 I did not take any bikes with me. I was keen to buy some genuine Canadian steel bikes and find to what brands and models were popular. Within one week of landing in Toronto I had organised work in a shop. Next I needed a bike, and looked through the local classifieds to see what was around. I found this Kona Lava Dome for $150. The bike was great, and the previous owner had done nothing to destroy the original set up. It had the P2 forks, Velocity stem and Race Light bars, seat post & levers. It was at the perfect city commuter that got me to and from work, with some trail time in the Don Valley in-between. I rode it up until I left for Vancouver. I decided not to take it with me as I figured there would be many similar bikes waiting for me in BC anyways. What I should have done looking back was to freight it back to Australia, it would have been a decent flip.
