1991 GARY FISHER MONTARE
I picked up this '91 Montare for $80 while living in Toronto, it was all stock when I got it, but a lot of the components were worn out. I had never owned an elevated stay bike before, and seeing as though it was an unplanned spur of the moment purchase I decided to have some fun with the build...
It's hard to see in the photos but the paint job was wild. Red with splatter effects and purple/ neon yellow accents. So naturally I went all out on the 3DV parts- brakes, boosters, levers, bars, seat post etc, and neon for the lines and grips. I did everything while keeping to a nice cheap budget, because after a few rides it was time to flip this bike to someone who has a matching neon helmet and a handlebar moustache, and will look better riding the Don Valley trails on it than me!
